The applicant shall assist in conducting and supporting all engineering and technical activities required during the material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operation and support phases of the systems acquisition process to include the following: requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, requirements management, risk management, interface management, and configuration management.
The applicant shall assist in developing and preparing all engineering and technical documentation including but not limited to the systems engineering plan.
The applicant shall assist in conducting systems review and analysis with written reporting, briefing, and artifact development as required for all of the technical specialty areas defined in the following sections. The applicant shall assist in planning and executing all necessary technical reviews, assessments, and technical interchange meetings including but not limited to CDRs, manufacturing readiness assessments, and reliability technical interchange meetings.
The applicant shall prepare associated artifacts (e.g. CDR entry and exit criteria). The applicant shall assist in producing architectures which assess user needs, document the planned and existing systems intended to meet the needs, determine deficiencies, develop and recommend alternative solutions to meet the deficiencies, and support development of a plan to implement the chosen solution.
The applicant shall provide developmental planning support in evaluation of the military mission to be accomplished and related requirements documentation. The applicant shall divide mission tasking (requirements) or a system concept into the basic building block activities (functions) that must be done and the associated time frame to do the job assigned or envisioned.
The applicant shall assist in comparing the ability of existing and/or derivative existing systems to meet mission needs / requirements. The applicant shall assess mission needs and current weapon system capabilities and deficiencies to determine relative importance and potential pay-off of current and proposed statements of technology needs. The applicant shall perform engineering tasks concerned with definition of advanced aircraft systems, electronic systems, weapon systems, and range systems requirements and performance.
The applicant shall assist in developing and utilizing analytical and simulation analysis techniques to optimize system performance and/or system effectiveness; establish system sensitivities, define system parameters, evaluate hardware, and validate flight test results in terms of overall system relationships and applications. The applicant shall assist in conducting simulation studies to evaluate all aspects of system development and acquisition to include but not be limited to system and component performance, engineering trade-offs, system effectiveness, and logistics.
To fill engineering positions, it is required that the Contractor have successfully completed an undergraduate degree with a major in engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program(s) for the degree requirements of the position (e.g. electrical, mechanical, aerospace).
Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for these positions. To fill computer science positions, it is recommended that the Contractor have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in computer science from a college or university with an ABET-accredited computer science program.
For engineering and computer science positions, the degree must have been received in the year of, or any year subsequent to the original date of accreditation. To find out if a school has an ABET accreditation, go to ABET accredited schools
