The Construction Accountant position assumes a lead role in all aspects of the construction accounting process as it relates to existing assets, future acquisitions, and fee management clients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting
  • 3-5 years of general accounting
  • Prefer 5 plus years of job cost accounting experience
  • Must have considerable knowledge with basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.) and accounting functions
  • Job cost and construction experience will be key for this position
  • Yardi experience strongly preferred
  • Yardi Construction experience a big plus
  • Must be proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook applications
  • The salary range for this position is $65K - $75K/year

Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual joint venture, investor, fee management, lender, and construction reporting
  • Prepare loan draws, lien waiver collection, and capital calls for both joint venture and fee management properties
  • Handle and process all aspects of construction payables, including coding, routing of capital invoices, and maintenance of the job cost chart of accounts
  • Review contractors' payment applications for monthly billings
  • Maintain Yardi-Construction database – including but not limited to uploading budgets on new acquisitions, opening and closing jobs as needed, and reviewing contract coding to ensure payables are hitting the proper accounts
  • Perform monthly close and related journal entries
  • Ad hoc requests
