Job description
The Governance, Control and Metrics team within GBAM Tax Control and Operations provides governance and control across GBAM Tax Operations (both internal and outsourced processes). The team is responsible for establishing, monitoring and managing the effectiveness and adequacy of the risk and control environment supporting Tax Operations within Global Banking and Markets Operations.
 
A strong balance of leadership experience, influence, Global Banking and Global Markets business knowledge, metric analytics and reporting experience and project management skills are important for success in this role. This role will drive the development of meaningful metrics to support global tax operation process activities, engage with a broad group of process owners and continuously improve our analytic and reporting routines that support the operational teams. 
 
They will partner closely with GBAM Tax Control teammates globally, as well as with Control Function and LOB partners.
  • Lead the definition and evolution of a metrics and reporting portfolio that will enable GBAM tax leaders to effectively measure the performance and risk of their processes.
  • Guide Process/Control owners on the development of effective measurements of controls, including evaluating the opportunity to leverage Compliance or Front Line owned tests, develop meaningful metrics and/or implement monitoring.
  • Enhance existing reporting routines and drive analytics to support communication and escalation with Senior Management within GBAM Ops.
  • Identify and escalate process and control weaknesses as identified through metric analytics.
  • Integrate with the Single Process Inventory and troubleshoot Process Owner Portal (POP) challenges, assisting Inventory Administrators and Process Owner Delegates in navigating the platform and resolving questions/challenges. Escalate enhancement opportunities to Single Process Owner Office through resolution.
 
Hands on experience with:
  • Process Management (previously the Quality Assurance Standard) implementation
  • Metrics policy implementation
  • Process and Metric systems of record (Process Owner Portal and ORCIT Key Measures
  • Proven ability to make informed decisions, evaluating risk effectively.
  • Ability to influence and drive change through the identification and successful implementation of OpEx/SIM ideas.
  • Quickly and thoroughly collecting, integrating, analyzing, and interpreting data. Ability to distill and synthesize insights and summarize process implications.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and leaders, explaining priorities and constraints, and communicating effectively using all methods including in large group sessions and executive presentations.
 
Required Skills: (Must have these skills to be minimally qualified)
  • Effective communication, both written and oral.
  • Proven experience in implementing related requirements of the Compliance & Operational Risk Program, including risk assessments, issues management, Risk ID and Operational Losses.
  • Familiarity with the GBAM Operations business and organization.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills

Enterprise Role Overview:
Provides technical and analytical support in a global markets operations function for one or more operations product areas. Responsible for the analysis and resolution of complex operations problems and initiatives requiring exceptional handling and/or coordination of multiple operational and/or product specialists to resolve. May manage projects and/or the introduction of new initiatives, systems, products/services and processes, coordinating necessary expertise across multiple operations functions and/or products.
 
As a technical expert, may also function as an informal team lead, providing work direction and technical guidance to less experienced employees in resolving complex transactions and operational problems. Requires extensive experience in an operations support function with thorough working knowledge of fundamental business structure and operational aspects for specific transactions and products.
